What's Astragalus membranaceus?

Astragalus membranaceus has a long history of medicinal use as its root. The earliest "Shennong Materia Medica Classic" in China listed Astragalus membranaceus as the "top grade". The Medicinal Rhyme states: "Astragalus membranaceus is used as a medicine to strengthen the body, and has the effects of tonifying qi, strengthening the spleen and stomach, expelling pus and relieving pain, promoting blood circulation and treating critical diseases. It has a significant therapeutic effect on diseases such as superficial deficiency, spontaneous sweating, internal injury due to qi deficiency, mental fatigue, limb weakness, spleen deficiency diarrhea, excessive sweating, qi deficiency prolapse, swelling, and carbuncle. Ancient medical books such as "Records of Famous Doctors" and "Compendium of Materia Medica" all believe that it has the effect of tonifying qi and tonifying deficiency.
